Doras Broadcaster Set is part of our Vintage Correct Series, created in honor of my grandma Dora — she had a bold grit, quiet grace, and unshakable conviction. She worked endlessly hard, laughed like she had a secret, and loved deeply.

This set channels that spirit — raw, strong, and straight to the point. Based on the original 1950 Broadcaster pickups it’s my go-to recommendation for players looking for an overwound Tele bridge with classic character. Expect vintage twang with more muscle, bite, and attitude — and all your traditional Blackguard tones are still right there, just roll your volume knob back a bit.

Key Features:

• Tone: Clear and assertive with boosted mids and grit in the bridge — ideal for players who want a bold Tele voice with more growl, while still having access to softer vintage tones by rolling back the volume. 

  Bridge Pickup: Overwound flat pole Alnico 3 magnets for extra output, tighter lows, and snarling midrange presence.

  Neck Pickup: Alnico 5 magnets for sweet highs and warm, well-balanced lows.

   

• Design: True to 1950 Broadcaster specs, using vintage-correct wire, flatwork, and magnets for an authentic feel.

• Technique: Hand-wound on a vintage Geo Stevens winder to preserve the subtle irregularities and life just like it was made in the 50's.

• Craftsmanship: Built to order with premium materials and care.

• Dedicated to my Grandma, Dora — Amongst many other things she was the best cook. When people asked her for the secret, she’d say, “No secrets — I just genuinely love cooking.” I think about that every time I am building pickups. This set carries her strength, warmth, and no-nonsense spirit — a classic voice with extra bite and backbone.
